Currently, as of June 2012 BMC membership is discounted by 50% to £14.97 which is a bargain. You could potentially save the fee alone on purchases you make from the supported stores that give 10% discount to members.
The BMC is also (as June 2012) including the choice for an annual TGO magazine subscription on top of your BMC membership for £35 (13 issues with a 30% discount). So for £49.97 you get a years BMC membership and 13 issues of TGO magazine.
